Hands-On Topper Certification with Diana Ford — October 27

Our October 27 Hands-On Topper Certification at the Dimples LA office was an incredible full-day experience for stylists ready to take their skills to the next level. With limited seats available, it was an intimate and focused setting — the kind that lets everyone actually get hands-on, ask questions, and leave with real confidence.

Led by Diana Ford — a professional stylist and the educator behind Jon Renau and Cesare Ragazzi’s training programs — the class was designed to take stylists step-by-step through every part of the topper process. From understanding construction and hair types to cutting, toning, and blending, it was a full eight hours of guided, practical training.

Each stylist had their own workstation and mannequin head, following along as Diana demonstrated on her models. A second educator was also on hand to make sure every attendee got personal support throughout the day.

The training covered:

• Toppers 101: Hair types, base construction, and when to choose toppers vs. extensions
• Client Consultation + Coaching: How to size, fit, and confidently guide a client through their first topper appointment
• Hands-On Cutting, Washing & Conditioning: Working directly on new toppers
• Lowlighting, Rooting & Toning: Live demos and hands-on application for natural blends
• Pro Tips & Tricks: Hiding transitions, redirecting parts, and styling for a seamless look

Each stylist also received a full professional kit to take home:

• Human Hair Hand-Tied Topper
• Heat-Friendly Hand-Tied Topper
• Human Hair Color Ring
• Heat-Friendly Color Ring
• Complete sets of hair care items for both hair types

Lunch, snacks, and coffee kept the group going, but the real energy came from the collaboration — stylists sharing ideas, comparing results, and watching their work come to life.

By the end of the day, every participant earned their Dimples Topper Certification, ready to offer premium topper services to clients who need more than extensions can provide.
